Gear Cube II

Click a thumbnail to see its larger version and description.
An enhanced version of the Gear Cube with gears in the corners and more types of moves.

Compared with the original Gear Cube the orientation of the gears is different, as the gears now have teeth where the gaps of the original gear cube used to be.
The gear ratio is 6:9:24. The first 2 numbers were chosen to be very similar to the original gear cube, but adding the 9-tooth gear meant the final number had to be changed from 20 to 24. This unfortunately means the puzzle doesn't scramble very well, as the edge gears don't change their orientation with face turns.
Image 4 shows a move similar to the Gear Pyraminx, where all corners are twisted at once.
You can also turn a face by 45 degrees and only turn the gears on one layer, or the opposite layer. This is shown in images 5-6.
And you can turn one side by 90 without changing anything else as shown in image 7.
Edge length: 57 mm
Weight: 85 grams
