The design for this puzzle was made by Scott Bedard. The first working sample was made by Josh Bostick with the help of that design.
This puzzle is a full face turning hexagonal prism. It has six square faces which allow twists by 180° and two faces which allow 60°-twists. The square faces have a size almost identical to a standard 3x3x3.
Originally pictured in the 1982 Catalog, "PYRAMINX" by Uwe Meffert under the name "Pyraminx Magic Hexagon". Uwe has claimed that this item only ever existed as a cardboard mockup.
