This puzzle could be interpreted as a bandaged 9x9x9 but it has an easier mechanism.

It uses the same mechanism as the cubic 3x3x9 but one layer is present as circle in the layer under it. There are two subversion for this puzzle:
3x3x8 I (0) - The circle is not turned when the surrounding layer is turned.
3x3x8 II (1) - The circle turns when the surrounding layer is turned.
The package was used for eight different puzzles.
