This variant was inspired by the Evil Twin and the Case Cube. With the Evil Twin it shares the concept of fusing two puzzle into one and gluing additional pieces onto the existing ones. With the Case cube it shares the general appearance and the rim of the solid which consists mainly out of edges known from the octagon.
