This is one member of Jürgen Brandt's series of shape variants. A series he presented in a video from 2003. The exact year of its creation is unknown but this gives a lower bound. It is therefore one of the younger shape variants.
The shape resembles the stellated octahedron. The stickers show the shape as comprised of two tetrahedra fused into each other.
