A mass produced Vulcano with four tips truncated.

For the creator creating this variant is something like going back to the future: 16 years ago he created his Octaminx by chopping of the tips of a mass produced Pyraminx. By doing so, Tony reduced the possible turns although everything lost are the trivial tips.
In case of the Octrignis Tony chopped of the tips of a Vulcano mass produced by Mefferts and again he removed a whole layer of possible trurns for each axis.

This is the same puzzle as an F-skewb.
Octrignis can be viewed as an octahedron inbetween the octaminx and the face turning octahedron (3 layers long scale or 5 layers short scale). If the octaminx is 3 layers and the FTO is its 5x5x5 variant (also short scale), the Octrignis would be a 4x4x4 version.
Gem 5 is the exact same puzzle, but made without babyfaces and to prevent planes interacting, it uses truncated octahedron shape instead of an octahedron. The Octrignis has babyfaces which use avoids having curved cuts.
