A 2x2x2 with restricted movemements that can be taken apart.

At first this puzzle looks like a 2x2x2 and it is indeed a face turning puzzle but it uses a completely different mechanism.
The puzzle is held in one piece by dovetail connections. Because of the different connections each piece has some moves are blocked while others are allowed. In the right permutation (image 2) one piece can be removed and afterwards the whole puzzle can be disassembled. It could be viewed as a puzzle with two solutions.
The puzzle works more like a maze than a "traditional" twisty puzzle.
The first version of this puzzle was presented in 2007. The images show the version implemented in 2009 with the help of shapeways.
