This is a Rubiks cube from first batch of the Politechnika Magic Cube. There were just 5000 samples of these produced in 1977 at the Politechnika Toy Production Plant in Budapest.
In Jan 1980 the company Politechnika was renamed in Politoys.

A second batch of production started in 1977 too. Most Politechnika-Cubes steem from that batch. The differences are:
- The pieces of the first batch are massive.
- The cubes of the first batch weigh 143 grams.
- The edge pieces show raised stickers because of imperfect molding lines.
- The orange colour was almost dull (seen in image 3)
Image 9 shows the small sheets that came with the cube.

Most of the packages from the first batch are printed in hungarian but there were some exceptions:
The english (see image 10) and french (see image 11) versions are indistinguishable from the second batch but the german version is:
The german version of this batch was made for "Computer Consulting M�nchen" but strangely the company couldn't sell them. Even this short-lived version came in two different packages (images 12-13) presumably because of the syntax error (ConsultUng instead of Consulting) on the first package. David Singmaster obtained the remains and sold them with the leaflet depicted in images 14-16.
There was also another package with lighter colours and a round sticker "Made in Hungary". See images 17-18.
There was also another hungarian package with a different font and a different text. See images 19-20.
