A handmade relative of the Grimace but smaller and more puristic.

The first one to built a puzzle like this was Tony Fisher back in the 1983. Back then he made his creation from wood, considered the result as failure and therefore did not presented it until his website went online in November 2009. However this early work inspired Jeong Eul Cheol to create his own sample from scratch without any metal, even without screws.
This puzzle is equivalent to the Grimace and like that it is trivial to solve.
In 2002 a patent was granted to FRANCISCO GUITART CAMPS under the number given here. But this patent was never used to create an actual puzzle out of it.
