At first it looks like a pillowed 2x3x3 (aka Domino) but it is a 3x3x4 shaved down to the size of a 3x3x3.

The idea was conceived by Claus Wenicker after the first mass produced 3x3x4's were sold. The distance between the pillowed faces measures 57 mm which is the height of a standard 3x3x3.
The puzzle has a smaller number of distinct permutations because the eight corner pieces fall into two sets of indistinguishable pieces.
