This is a shape variant of the 3x3x3. Its middle layer is identical to the middle layer of an Axis Cube. The other two layers are twisted but some degrees and then remodelled to make the final puzzle cubic again. It therefore shares a property with the Golden Cube that its solved state is a midturn state.
