This variant is functional equivalent to a pair of Fused 4x4x4's. The difference to the "traditional" Fused Cubes is the way both cubes are fused and the stickering scheme. The stickers guarantee that both cubes look like as if they were mirrored on a plane going through the gluing zone. This gave the puzzle its name.
