This puzzle can be viewed as a higher-order variant of the Rhombiminx. The inventor sees the Rhombiminx as puzzle of order=2. This is therefore the 3rd order cousin and therefore appropriately named R3.
The possible moves and the pieces present are identical to the Cross Cube.
The idea for this puzzle was conceived by Garrett Ong but implemented by Ben VonDerHaar.
