A puzzle which is based on the fourth dimensional symmetry (edge-transitivity) of the 4D polytope 5-cell (also known as Pentachoron)
Chronos consists of different 3D projections of the 4D polytope 5-cell. It is based on the 4D structure known as Pentachoron (i.e. five tetrahedron spaces). Any of the ten (differently coloured) edges can move to the middle of the triangular dipyramid projection.
The goal of the puzzle is change the middle rod to all ten colours, without going through one colour twice. The movement is done by elongating and contracting the telescopic rods such that corners pass through the triangular faces.
This puzzle attended the design competition during IPP30 in 2010.
The inventor also created a version "Ananke" where the vertices are coloured instead of the edges.
