Holey Octahedron
Above:Solved
The above is currently the only image for this item.
A void Trajber's Octahedron. Rather than having holes at the tips, this one has holes in the faces.

The Holey Octahedron was originally built by David Calzone from files made by Tom van der Zanden. In 2009, Tom adapted the files for 3D printing.
Rather than having holes at the tips (which an octahedral transformation of the original Void Cube would have) this puzzle has holes in the faces. The mechanism is more-or-less a regular 3x3x3 mechanism, but with a hollow, spherical core that has holes through which you can see. Like Tony Fisher's Void Skewb this produces a "shuttering" effect.
The puzzle is being sold on Shapeways as a DIY kit, finished copies are for sale from the inventor.
Solvingwise this puzzle is identical to the "Magic Octahedron" first mass produced during the eighties.
