The number of possible bandaged 4x4x4's is overwhelming. Of all those variants just two have this high degree of symmetry. This is one of them. In 2011 mass production of this variant was started as part of a serious of cube bandaged by gluing on tiles. Please refer to image 3. There is also a version named "Challenger" which is a restickered version after two turns. Links
