The Waterfall Cube is based on the concept of applying Square-1 vertical cuts based on a 3x3x3, rather than a 2x2x2 like the original Square-1.
The central layer works like a 1x3x3 (aka Floppy). The outer layers turn in 16 steps. If one unbandages the Square-1 it results in the dodecagonal prism. It is unknown how an unbandaged Waterfall cube would look like.
