A 4x5x5 cuboid with internal hidden pieces exposed.
To build this puzzle Ilya Toporgilka took a handmade shapeshifting 5x5x5 I, glued a wing edge to the middle layer edge and drew two circles on two 5x5 sides. The crazy 4x5x5 means a 4x5x5 cuboid with the exposed and coloured pieces of the hidden middle layer. It follows the same principle the crazy 2x3x3 did. There is one locked piece which would have turned the circle with the 5x5 side.
On a mass produced crazy 2x2x2 Neptune and crazy 2x3x3 the pieces of the hidden layer are located at two opposite circles showing their colours. On Ilya Toporgilka’s crazy 4x5x5 the location is different. These parts are located on the exposed middle layer itself. On the drawn circles nothing is moving but the puzzle is identical in solving to the crazy 4x5x5 where the circles would act.
On a crazy 2x3x3 there is an additional secret M-layer move. However, it does not allow the puzzle to be shapeshifted. The crazy 4x5x5 by Ilya Toporgilka can get shapeshifted and bandaged just like Traiphum’s shapeshifting 5x5x5 is able to. It is only possible because of the exposed middle 5x5x1 layer. The only difference is that there is one locked piece(2 bandaged pieces) which adds additional bandaging. The puzzle in the process of shapeshifting bandages to the 3x3x3 with one edge and one corner glued on each other.
Ilya Toporgilka basically wanted to transform this puzzle into a barrel where every piece is a square or approach the square and apply 21x21 stickers but this would require the cubies to be at least 35mm and turn out too big in that case. So he decided to compress the cuboid.
