Big Chop Ball

A Big Chop implemented with magnets and transformed into the shape of a sphere.

The variant of the Big Chop is composed of a steel ball and 120 triangles.
Each triangle contains a central magnet in contact with the steel ball and 3 magnets placed on the sides for stability and alignement.
Individually each central magnet has an attraction force of 100 g but as they are all in contact and as close as possible, the 120 central magnets behave like a single strong magnet with an attraction force of 2 kg. This is the reason why the magnetic big chop does not derail as long as a pressure of less than 2 kg is exerted.
An anti-derailment system with free washers makes the assembly very stable.
The inventor presented the prototype in 2021 but presented a stickered sample in 2023.
