The original version of this puzzle has a small Nintendo logo on the top and bottom. A more recently produced version is identical except that it has no logo of any kind.

Gunpei Yokoi, the man who invented this puzzle for Nintendo, also designed the Game Boy a few years later. He died in a car accident in 1997.
