Hey Forum, here is my new puzzle, entitled the pentagram.
It is a vertex turning dodecahedron, and is equivalent to gelatinbrain 1.2.3. This is also the puzzle that the Michel Jackson hint referred to. in the song the Lyric Is abc, easy as 123! Thanks Eitan for the hint suggestion!
The stickers on the puzzle are temporary(I had to partially cut them by hand)

For sale!
showing the turning
And because of its geometry, it jumbles

Let me just say this is probably the best turning 3-D printed puzzle I have seen to date. I watched as Eric stickered this thing and the turning is FLAWLESS. You will not be disappointed if you buy it I can guarantee you that.

Brilliant stickered! When I saw it in the sidebar, my mind was going "finally!"

Very nice! I think you are making a great move by making this kit available through shapeways. May I ask how many pieces this cube has? Also, how tough is assembly.

It appears to me that this could also be an edge-turning and a (deep-cut?) face-turning puzzle. Has this been done before?
Do you plan to do this?

Wow, very nice!!! This may just have to find its way into my Christmas stocking.

It seem to me that it's essentially the equivalent of 2.1.2, a face-turning icosahedron, modulo stickering. I think all the piece types are the same. Roughly, this is to the FTI as Trajber's Octahedron is to the Rubik's Cube.
And as it has icosahedral twist, it is no surprise (these days!) that it jumbles.

That turns like a dream. Well done Eric! And at $250 I'm really going to have to consider getting one for myself.

That's a really nice puzzle. The smoothness of the turning is quite amazing for a 3d-printed puzzle like this. Well done!

A 3-D Printed puzzle that is so fantastically turning and yet so cheap (for shapeway standards) is simply amazing! You just convinced me to make a shapeways account.

If I remember correctly, the pentagram is only a symbol of satanism when it is pointing down (they are pointing up on the most easily visible faces of this puzzle), other than that,it is a symbol for a ton of different things, most of them are religiously agreeable in some sense
In other words, this puzzle may actually be worship to the Greek gods
A beautiful puzzle, no matter what confusing symbolism is related to it's geometry

Thanks for the kind words everyone. A few people asked me to show some scrambled pics, so I will oblige them. I wanted to put this for sale tonight, but shapeways seems to be down. I will try to get it up as soon as possible.

Beautiful puzzle! I find it really interesting how a megaminx+pentultimate puzzle, a dodecahedron helicopter, and this pentagram all look exactly the same on the surface!

Yes, this is technically a shape mod of the DeFTI
Modern-Day Warrior wrote:Just out of curiosity, have you been able to solve it yet?
No, I am atrociously bad at solving puzzles (compared to most of the members here). I haven't been able to put in the real time required, so the only progress I have made on the puzzle is figuring out the corners. I doubt ill every figure it out.

Agreed. Normally I'm not a fan of shape mods, but this one looks awesome. Wow, 2010 certainly has been the year of icosahedral twist.
